This Italian based resource has to be one of the best places to start when looking for politically related sites on the Internet.

The Labour party
The Labour Party has recently been making lots of noises about it plans to encourage the large telecommunication companies to connect schools, libraries and the home to the information superhighway if it wins the next election.

The Progressive Directory
The Progressive Directory aims to use the net to 'expand and inspire movements for environmental sustainability, human and workers' rights, non-violent conflict resolution, social and economic justice, and women's equality'. This is remarkable resource which demonstrates how the net can be really used to bring people together to effect change.

The Extropians
Originating from the west coast of the States they have a complex philosophy of life which, loosely interpreted, identifies the relationship we have the rapidly accelerating technologies and considers and explores how this can and should be used for the good of humanity. One of the central ideas is that technology will help us become 'posthuman' and 'transhuman', meaning that in the future we will become persons of unprecedented physical, intellectual, and psychological ability due to the technologies of genetic engineering, neural-computer integration, and molecular nanotechnology.

Oceania - The Atlantis Project
The Atlantis Project is about a group ofpeople who want building a brand new country right from scratch Called Oceania. This new country will initially be a sea-based city constructed out of steel and glass dedicated to the value of freedom. Passports at $250 a head....

The New Internationalist
The New Internationalist (NI) is a magazine which exists to report on the issues of inequality and world poverty; to focus attention on the unjust relationship between the powerful and powerless in both rich and poor countries and to debate and campaign for the radical changes necessary within and between those nations. Very good site.

Trying to make sense of the horror that has been the civil war in the former-Yugoslavia over the past four years.

INDEX on Censorship
A magazine which aims to provoke debate on the fundamental questions of free speech andis is a lively collection of cases, stories, thoughts and views from a wide variety of sources.

Nazism Exposed
This Norwegian based site is dedicated to documenting, exposing and spreading information about the activity of Nazi, fascists and extreme nationalists both in Europe and on the Internet. The growth of these far left organisations, now at their highest since Hitler came to power, has mean an increase in racist violence, intimidation and propaganda in many countries and Nazism Exposed lists the recent nazi activities in many parts of Europe including the UK and details of some of the most brutal attacks carried against blacks and immigrant workers in Germany. This site makes it clear how the extremists breed on fear and intimidation, how they organise and operate and explains why they are such an enemy of democracy. There is some disturbing examples of Nazi hate mail, a directory of symbols of the various groups and links to every nazi group currently organising via the net, justifiably included because it is better to see what they are doing rather than to ignore them by sticking our head in the sand.

This site is a breath of fresh air for those who appreciate an alternative view of life, with stuff on topics such as AIDS, the New World Order, Metaphysics, heath and New Technology.

The Anarchy Organisation
Plenty of articles explaining Anarchist theory and practice, details their various activities and campaigns. The electronic Library contains listing of many other Anarchy resources while the directory contains articles, messages, poems and ramblings which have been posted by its members.

Political Science Resources
Maintained by Richard Kimber of Keele University this site is a huge collection links to a wide variety of political resources found on the Net. Well maintained with regular updates.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation
The U.S. based Electronic Frontier Foundation ( EFF) believes that the 'new digital networks offer a tremendous potential to empower individuals in an ever-overpowering world' the EFF campaigns, lobbies, and fights to protect what it sees as basic civil liberties.

Amnesty International
Vital work in bringing attention to violations of basic human rights around the world regardless of either the ideology of the government or the beliefs of the victim, the overriding message from every part of Amnesty's site is that you, along with the other 1,100,000 or so of it members, can make a difference in the struggle to free prisoners of conscience, stop torture and bring liberty to a victim of "disappearance".

One World Online
An amazing resource which is a "meeting point for the International Community". A top site which should be visited by everyone at least once.

FEMINIST.COM
According to FEMINIST.COM only 15% of the people who use the Net are woman, mainly because girls are steered away from the field of maths, science and technology and have difficulty breaking into the 'old boys network'. This site sets out to change this by creating a place where women can meet, exchange ideas, get information, build a business, become active and empower themselves to get what they want. An excellent resource which should provide some inspiration for women netter's everwhere.

Bad Subjects: Political Education Everyday Life
A stimulating on-line magazine which challenges dogma and encourages its readers to think hard about the political dimension to all aspects of everyday life. Each issue is a contains a broad range of articles reflecting its commitment "to accessibility, contemporary relevance, and a willingness to respect and learn from all points of view". This is a well organised project which comfortably steps outside the conventional conceptions of 'politics'.
