Current Ideas

These are some of the ideas and creative projects that I'm working on in 2009. If you are interested in knowing more then get in touch.

1) ArtScanner and SoundMappr. Tagging of creative content using barcodes, semacodes, RFID and geotagging. This is ongoing work that has been exhibited. The current focus is on the creation of geotagged audio content that can be delivered using a GPS-capable multimedia device such as an Apple iPhone. See www.artscanner.org.uk for progress.

2) 'Artificial Light' is an idea that came out of my MA research and aims to create autopoietic structures using plants and electronics. It is in the early stages at present but the idea is looking promising. It is a contender for my main PhD focus.

3) Interactive laser installation. I've been experimenting with computer controlled lasers for a while and hope to be able to exhibit a reasonably sophisticated piece of work before too long.

4) 'Polyp.TV' is also a product of my MA research. It samples live TV and radio to create audiovisual structures according to pre-defined rules. I am currently developing it as part of my MTI residency at De Montfort University.

5) I want to develop my Autopoiesis artwork that was created for my MA. The progression would see a broader range of visual material used and possibly live video cameras used to create the moving collages.
